A day at Deerkill Day Camp is tailored to be developmentally appropriate for each age group.
Each group has a different daily schedule based on their age and level of development - there is something for everyone! Camp is divided into five general age groups:
- Pre-K (Pre-K 3 & 4)
- Junior Camp (Entering K or 1st)
- Club (Entering 2nd to 5th)
- Quest (Entering 6th to 9th)
- STARs (Entering 10th)
All of our programs are based on a few shared core principles that revolve around our four main goals & objectives (PDF) for our campers. Your child’s counselor will provide feedback to parents throughout the summer on their child’s progress in each of these areas.
Of course, a summer day camp experience would not be complete without some surprises along the way. We add to the daily fun with theme days, professional shows, and trips. Campers get to strut their stuff on theme days such as Crazy Hat and Halloween Day. Every other week we invite outside entertainers such as jugglers, magicians and game shows to perform and instruct our campers. And of course we have our annual events including our world-famous Theme Night, Field Day, and Carnival.
Campers entering 6th grade and older go on a minimum of one age-appropriate trip each session with our oldest campers going on up to six day trips each summer plus an overnight at camp. Take a look at our Special Event Schedule to see more special events here (PDF).
